How to create a FavIcon

Customize your site with a FavIcon

Creating a .ico image and having it displayed in your visitors' browsers is really easy to do.

Just go to this site , and have a picture ready (keep the width and height equal), follow their iinstructions and when you download the zip file, extract the contents, upload the "favicon.ico" file to the IMAGES directory of your Joomla! installation.

Then go to your Joomla! home page and see the result.

If you have any problems seeing the favicon in your browser, check 2 things:

clear your browser cache, and then try again
check your template has the following between the <head> </head> tags
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/favicon.ico" />
