| Template Module Positions |
|
Now you've got your chosen template header customised, you'll need to adjust the positions of your modules. Provided you've chosen a template with sufficient positions in it, you can just assign your modules to the available positions easily. First, if you don't already know, go and find out where the positions are by going to the administrator menu site>preview>inline with positions and view the positions. A good idea would be to print that view, and then plan out what modules you want to appear where, on paper. Go to the modules menu modules>site modules and go down your list of modules, looking to see which modules you want published and whether they're in the right position and order. Now, with the help of your paper plan, you can open each module, choose the position if it's not right, save it and then back in the module list you can publish and alter the module order for each position. A reminder for a simple tip when you are ever searching for templates and want to know what positions are available, append the following "?tp=1" to the address, you will see the module positions. Example : http://www.joomla.org?tp=1
